Acquired in 2018, the Gargrave, England facility became Scapa Healthcare’s European Turn-Key Center of Excellence. The site is focused on new product development and manufacturing of advanced wound care, consumer wellness products and wearable fixation devices.

In terms of technologies, Gargrave offers a whole set of unique capabilities including adhesive coating, medical foam manufacturing, biopolymers and lyophilization capabilities, liquid disinfection solutions, liquid and powder filling and hydrogels, amongst others. The site also comprises of an in-house Cobalt 60 gamma irradiation processing plant, along with a microbiology lab that supports the sterilization services.

Our innovation center in Gargrave has three state-of-the-art laboratories including physical & fluid testing lab, microbiology lab, and cell culture lab to support new product development. The dedicated R&D and microbiology teams at the site are highly proficient in wound biology, antimicrobials, biopolymers and stability. They can design, develop and deliver new commercial products to launch in tight timelines, leveraging a systematic approach to innovation with strategic partners. Gargrave also hosts a seasoned team of regulatory and quality experts to support our global partners with product local registrations and quality audits.
